Managing Your Health at Home: In-Home Supportive Care
If you’re considering in-home or outside care for a loved one, finding an agency or nursing home that fits the needs that loved one as well as fits their lifestyle and wishes, can be difficult. Many times seniors need help with everyday tasks such as going to the grocery store or doctor’s office. However, sometimes, there are health needs that must be included in that care plan. Everyone is different. At Compassionate Assistance, we know that providing the best qualify of life to your loved one while also providing necessary care is a top priority. While Compassionate Assistance is not a medical provider, we can provide care for many health-related needs, ensuring that your loved one receives the best care possible.
In-Home Care:
At Compassionate Assistance, we are focused on providing the highest quality of care in the place that is most comfortable for most people: at home. We are able to help with many different kinds of in-home needs, ranging from making meals to driving and attending doctor’s appointments with clients. Some of the in-home services that we offer are:
Companionship– One of the most important types of care that we offer is companionship. We take pride in becoming close friends with our clients and in bringing happiness to their lives. Human interaction is shown to have a positive impact on the overall well-being of people, especially seniors.
Personal care– We can provide help with day-to-day activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, exercising, and other services, allowing clients to stay independent in the comfort of their own home. Our caregivers can also help with light housekeeping duties like bed-making, vacuuming, laundry, sweeping, dusting, and general household organization.
Transportation– Being able to get outside gives our clients a greater feeling of independence and can improve their mood. Caregivers can provide support for clients by taking them to doctor’s appointments, the grocery store, or anywhere they need to go.
Meal Preparation– Meal preparation is also an important part of continued care. From shopping for necessary supplies to cooking meals, our caregivers encourage a healthy diet for our clients.
Health Care:
As stated above, Compassionate Assistance is a non-medical home care provider. However, all of our caregivers are trained on chronic disease management as well as required to complete 20 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) per year. We feel it is important for our caregivers to have the knowledge of common diseases and disorders so that they can identify the symptoms in the home before an accident happens. We are not a medical provider. However, we can provide in-home supportive care for those who are chronically ill, disabled, or transitioning from hospital to home.
Here are a few different ways that we can provide for health needs:
- Respite Care
- Hospital-to-Home
- Specialized Care
- Hospice Support
